In two days, my husband and I will head to California with our six children for a visit to Disneyland. Ever since we brought our three kids home from Ethiopia two and a half years ago, we have been promising a trip to Disneyland. We thought about the trip many times, but it never panned out. Then my friend,
Tana mentioned that she and her family were going to Disneyland, and it suddenly seemed like the perfect time to go.
I look forward to seeing Tana again. I can’t wait for our husbands to meet, or our kids to get to know each other better. I look forward to enjoying the happiest place on earth with a family so similar to my own. It should be a great time for all of us. We will get stared at together.
I look forward to being in California, where both my husband and I grew up. We both get so nostalgic when we’re in California. We love the scenery, the energy, and the diversity of California. It has always been our favorite place to vacation.
I can’t wait to spend time with my kids without everyday responsibilities. I look forward to seeing four of my kids experience Disneyland for the first time. What a blessing it is to be able to go on this trip.
I’m feeling both excited and anxious about something else right now. It seems like many families' files are getting through IBESR and the courts right now. In fact, files that went into IBESR
after ours did, are getting signed out. It seems that it is only a matter of time before we should hear something ourselves (I hope!). Next week the government offices in Haiti will be closed for Carnival, so we won’t hear anything for at least a week. But I am ever hopeful for the last week of February. If we do get signed out this month, then we might get to bring our girls home in July or thereabouts. That seems like an impossible dream, and yet … maybe. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful?
I finished the book,
Restavec, by Jean-Robert Cadet, and am working on writing a review. I also plan to share a little about Carnival in Haiti, as well as a couple of posts about our adventure at Disneyland. So stay tuned!
