Mama does Georgia's hair

July 14, 2006

We slept in a bit this morning, and lied around playing with our girls. Our room had a twin bed and a double bed. We pushed them together to make one mondo bed. The girls slept on the twin up against the wall, and I slept right next to them (on the crack) and Tim was next to me. Having the beds like that made it easy to have a large, clean, soft place for the girls to play and Talley to crawl around. Georgia never moved from where we placed her, so I guess having a big area was less necessary for her. Whenever we ordered room service, we ate on the bed together and took turns feeding the girls.

For breakfast, we ordered room service. We got oatmeal (it was unusual, but rather tasty), traditional fried potatoes (with fried onions--very yummy), and pancakes (a little different than what we were expecting, but very good). Georgia ate a lot, again. Talley did good with oatmeal, and both girls really loved the potatoes. We found out later we were not supposed to feed them potatoes, as it causes tummy troubles. They ate quite a bit of potatoes with us, so hopefully they were ok at the orphanage. I really hope we did not cause them gastro-intestinal distress.

After we had breakfast, I gave the girls baths to wash off their scabies medicine. Again Talley screamed bloody murder and Georgia was afraid, but made no sound. I put lotion on them and gave them massages, and then dressed them in clean clothes. I re-did Georgia's hair. It looked so cute. Her hair is so much easier to do than Claire's. For one thing, it was soft and easy to comb through. Claire has such small, tight curls, it is painful for her when I comb her hair. For another, Georgia did not move at all, whereas Claire likes to move and look around--making hair time quite difficult.

We played for a little bit. I brought many of the toys out of the suitcase. After a bit Tim told me to stop, that I was going to overwhelm Georgia. She loved the Barbie, and that is what she played with the most. Talley also loved it and was constantly taking it from Georgia. Georgia colored a little bit. She chose the orange crayon the most. Talley was content to play with anything, and crawled around a lot.

We ordered lunch to our room--fried chicken (good) with rice & beans, fried plantains, and a hamburger with french fries. Tim ate the hamburger. I tried one bite and though it was just ok. The fries were ok. Again Georgia and Talley ate well.
