September 24, 2006 continued from Part Two...

We finally made our way back to the hotel. The roads were a little flooded and so the driver couldn't see pot holes. We were bouncing all over. When we were coming up the hill to the hotel, the tires started spinning and slipping. The driver just floored it and we slowly slipped into the hotel parking lot.

We went up to our room and hung out for awhile. Tim slept. Ry read books to the girls. I tried to sleep, but couldn't. Around 5 pm, we went to the hotel restaurant for dinner. Ryland was excited to try Coke. Funny boy. We don't drink soda much at all and never caffinated soda (unless we are in other countries). Georgia ate well, but did not stuff herself like last time. She actually refused bites this time. She was looking at us so much and responding better than she ever did on our first trip.

After we finished eating, we went directly to our room. We played with the girls for awhile. I got Georgia laughing like crazy. She played with her toothbrush and a small light-up sword Ry brought for about a half hour. She brushed her Barbie's hair with her toothbrush and even had her Barbie dancing, and was humming or mumbling quietly to herself. It was a happy thing to witness.

After awhile I bathed both girls (Talley screamed and Georgia did well), and put scabies cream all over them and put them in their jammies. I sang to them while I did this, and Georgia really seemed to like my singing. Georgia started shutting down and even acted like she was going to cry after they were ready for bed. I put her in bed and Tim stroked her back and she fell asleep quickly. I put Talley in my bed, but she was crawling all over, so I took some photos of her. Then she fell asleep, once I sat in bed next to her.

I've been doing crossword puzzles and writing this. Tim is reading Les Miserables and Ryland is reading a biography on Benjamin Franklin's childhood. It's 10:30 pm now. I think I will head to bed shortly. We just plan to hang around the hotel all day tomorrow (which pleased Ryland very much), and enjoy our girls.
