1 am
I was awoken at about midnight to the sounds of diarrhea. Talley had had a little right before bed. She went all out this time. She was covered in poop! If that's what you could call it--it was so liquidy. I changed her, cleaned her up, re-applied the scabies medicine, got her dressed in clean clothes and comforted her until she fell asleep again. Then I laid her with Tim on his and Ry's and Georgia's bed while I cleaned the poop off Talley's and my bed, washed out her poopy jammies and her poopy blanket. I am exhausted! I'm holding Talley, hoping to relax. I'm trying to focus on her sweet little face and the feel of her body cuddled against mine, so I don't start obsessing over why she has such terrible diarrhea, or the fact that I did not bring any rice cereal or diarrhea meds or pedialyte. It's not like I can run out to the store and buy some. I hope this was our first and last experience with blow-out diarrhea. Poor thing! I really hope she is OK.
1:50 am
Georgia wakes up crying. She's dry, so I decide to see if she needs to go potty. I hold her on the toilet for a few minutes. She rests her head on my chest and falls asleep. I am sitting on the edge of the shower. After a few more minutes, she uses the toilet. I wait a few minutes more to make sure she is really finished. She falls asleep again. She is so precious. Why can't we just bring them home now?! I do not understand why Haitian adoption is so long and difficult?
I put Georgia back to bed. She looks a little frightened and so I stroke her face for awhile. I am so grateful for these two precious Princesses. I cannot wait to have them home with my little Claire. I hope the three of them are the best of friends, just like Sahara and Beth. I'm really missing my kids at home this time. I hate being torn between America & Haiti like this. I just want my whole family together! OK, I am going to try and get some sleep!
Awake from 1:50 to 3:20 am with the girls, and writing and doing crossword puzzles.
Awake from 4:20 to 4:45 am because Talley has another diarrhea explosion.
Awake at 7:45 am to a stinky, leaky, diarrhea baby. Changed Talley again and scrubbed sheets.
8 am--Ordered breakfast.
Today we took the girls swimming. Georgia loved it. We get her to laugh and smile a lot today. Georgia starts to test her boundaries. Talley doesn't seem to feel well. She is a smart little baby!
